If you are looking for a true Working Ranch experience, head back in time to historic Lucasia Ranch. Join ranch cowboys as they herd cattle through the picturesque Porcupine Hills of Southwestern Alberta. Surround yourself with 4000 acres of vast open country, which compromises Lucasia Ranch. Herds of elk and deer mingle with Texas Longhorns and crossbred cattle, as well as Percheron, Appaloosa and Quarter horses.
The ranch is the cornerstone on 4 different eco-systems which provides wildflower enthusiasts many opportunities to explore local flora, fauna and terrain. Ranch activities include cattle drives, branding days, and seasonal roundups that reflect the life of 100 years ago.
After a day in the saddle, enjoy old-fashioned home-cooking, including home grown veggies and ranch raised beef. Then relax in the evening telling stories around the fire pit or practice your roping skills on the ranch dummy.
The ranch house has 2 guest rooms with a shared bath or you may experience pioneer life in our renovated 1930s bunkhouse with half bath. Lucasia is a family-owned and run working ranch and the family love to introduce guests from all over the world to their western lifestyle.

Wayne and Judy Lucas bought Lucasia Ranch from his parents in 1994. They decided to diversify and from this idea came Lucasia Ranch Vacations.
Wayne and Judy had both been raised in a Farm/Ranch environment in the general area and always had guests in their house – hospitality was familiar to them.
In 1995, they refurbished an old log cabin and two bedrooms in the ranch house. As the business flourished, another 2 bedroom log cabin was added in 2006, actually built by one of their former guests. It provides a cozy setting and enough extra room for a limited number of guests.
Visitors from around the world continue to sample the Lucasia hospitality!
