Dame Arden Nering

Dame Arden owns Wild About Flowers, a small nursery which specializes in native Alberta wildflowers. Arden grew up in the foothills of Alberta and was lucky enough to be exposed to eco-friendly gardening practices from childhood.

Working in the landscape and nursery industry for several years contributed to her resolve to turn her attention to native wildflowers. Her inspiration was further fueled as she watched the countryside become acreage subdivisions covered with acres of high maintenance Kentucky Blue Grass lawns and she continued to explore alternatives to traditional landscaping.

Promoting the idea of naturalization as a form of low maintenance, eco-friendly landscaping with benefits for all, is her focus. Arden hand-collects wildflower seeds from natural growing environments with her trusty puppy and sells plants and seed packets.
